It has been the rule since the beginning of ...well, who knows since when, but many of us choose to start almost everything on Monday. I remember overeating over the weekend…

I just finished the 30 day challenge.
It was pretty simple. Weigh yourself and record it on this site for 30 days.
It was intended to be an exercise in self-discipline. Good results would be the icing on the cake - Keeping yourself accountable was the goal.
Ask yourself - If I can't do something this simple, am I really committed to reaching my fitness goals?
It was eye opening for me as well.
I started at 193.5 pounds and ended up at 195.0 pounds.
The good news is that I lost 1/2" off my…

Day 20: 198.0 pounds
Day 21: 197.5 pounds
Ok, so what's going on here? Did I really gain 3 pounds since Thursday? Is is it time to press the panic button?
Not so much.
I normally eat a fairly low carb diet. This weekend I went to dinner at friends on Saturday and with family on Sunday. I ate more starchy carbs than I normally do. This causes glycogen stores to be replenished, and more water to be retained.
It is not unusual to see a low carb dieter who goes hog wild on carbs to gain 10 pound…

One of the reasons many of my clients like me as their trainer is because I'm not a model of perfection. I'm not a size 3 and I don't weight 90 lbs wet. I do eat some things I shouldn't and take advantage of quiet days to cuddle on my couch and be a couch potato. I am the first to admit it and I'm not going to sugar coat who I really am. I am a work in progress and I make sure they know that. I work very hard 90% of the time because after having 4 kids and no longer being 25--bouncing back just…

For some odd reason, other than I had to change my diet, I became extremely frustrated over said change. I left for work early and went to the store to pick up some food for my shift. I was kind of in a hurry, a bit tired and also a bit hungry. I really didn't have time to read labels, but when you don't eat gluten and/or dairy, you must read all labels. I had to put down several items because they contain products I'm not eating any more.
It's obvious that I need to:
1) plan better...I need to…

Ok...this is my 5th day going wheat & dairy free. It's been quite a struggle, but as God is good, it's been uplifting. I really had no choice to go wheat free and dairy free because I can't eat anything else. I don't have a diagnosis for my problem, but I have to admit; I feel somewhat better today!
Changes
Grocery store. I can't just buy anything, I have to read the label. You'd be surprised what is in your food. Wheat is obviously a major ingredient in most foods.
Restaurants: Eve…
