In response to the 100 push up challenge..I am ready, willing and I WILL be able..once the 6 weeks are up. I love a challenge, and I am competitive enough that I'm hoping my husband will join me. Look out world, i'm going have some toned arms by the time this is done :)

I just completed my final test. WOW and YEAH! I did it.

I varied how I did my push up from wide stance, staggered stance to a regular push up. I also had to take a ten second rest on my knees at 40, 60, and 80 reps. I took about a fifteen second rest after 90 pushups. It took me less than four minutes to complete 100 push ups. Yeah, I did it.

(my arms are like jello, and feel like a bricks)

I did day one of week six last night. Ughh.... I'm really feeling it this morning. The end is in sight :)

I completed week six and now I just need to do the final test. I am looking at doing it on Wednesday.

I'm still sore from my last workout in the push up challenge. Today I have almost 80 less push ups to do than my day one. I can achieve this goal. The end is in sight.

Day one, week six- DONE!

56+45+42+40+56=239

How is everyone else doing?

Okay week six.
I know I shouldn't have done this after doing the same thing last week but I saw the numbers and said "wow!" More like "UGH" Today I will do 239 pushups for the challenge. To me that seems insurmountable. But I will concentrate on doing ten at a time, so little by little.

How are you doing on the challenge?

Week five really stepped up the pace. I am sore from all the pushing yesterday. I think there will come a time in everyone's workout that they look at it like a steep cliff and all they see is the top edge. I'm going to get to that edge but it is by just looking at the cliff right in front of me. One step at a time. Yesterday I looked at the entire workout and added all the push ups and went to something else on my list. I almost forgot about it. I knew it was going to be tough. Terie reminded me about the pushups and I tackled them, one set at a time. So when things get tough just look at at the first step to reaching the top. You can't get to the top without taking that first step.

Keep up the hard work.

I'm starting week four of the push up challenge. Yikes for me too! It's getting really tough, but I'm doing my best - that's all we can do, right? That's a great idea Nancy to change up your hand position; I'm going to try that today.

I just took a look at my week 5! Yikes. I am a little nervous about this schedule. My first day will give me 167 push ups. I can do this.

I'll let you in on a secret to making this easier. At least I have found it easier. I change my hand position with each set of push ups. I start with a standard hand position, a little more than shoulder width apart. The next set I widen out my hands. My third set I stagger my hands. So I put my left hand a little higher while my right hand is lower. They are about a foot apart. Then I switch hand positioning about half way through that set. On the fourth set I go back to regular hand positioning. On the last set I alter between these hand positions. In doing that I am still working the major chest muscles but I am altering the work they are doing. Give it a try. The closer your hands are together the harder the push up, so start close move out then stagger them.

Keep working hard.
